Yulia Velishayeva says personal context is key for AI

Mind Master founder Yulia Velishayeva said artificial intelligence tools must focus on personal context rather than basic task speed to stay competitive.

Yulia Velishayeva says personal context is key for AI

Yulia Velishayeva, the founder of the Mind Master EdTech ecosystem, said competition among artificial intelligence products will soon shift toward understanding personal user context.

Writing in an opinion column published on Ukrainian media platform LIGA.net, Velishayeva argued that artificial intelligence is still primarily discussed in terms of productivity. Under current expectations, users rely on technology to complete tasks faster and save execution time.

She noted that artificial intelligence tools are commonly used to write text faster, analyze documents, find errors in code, or gather information. In each case, a specific task exists and the technology simply reduces the time required to complete it.

Shift to personal context

Velishayeva stated that the market is now approaching a new stage of development. In this next phase, competition will shift away from asking what a model can do.

Instead, software creators will compete on how well a model understands individual user context. Velishayeva added that the more an artificial intelligence system knows about a user's previous requests and decisions, the more useful it becomes.

In educational technology, systems like Mind Master rely on user tracking to tailor learning materials. EdTech platforms use structured data and student history to deliver targeted instructional pathways.

Role of context in software

Context in artificial intelligence refers to the stored memory of user interactions, preferences, and historical inputs. Early artificial intelligence models processed each query independently without retaining memory across separate sessions.

Modern software development increasingly incorporates persistent context retention. By maintaining awareness of prior user decisions, artificial intelligence systems can provide more accurate responses without requiring repetitive instructions.

Industry background

LIGA.net is an independent Ukrainian news organization founded in 1997. The platform provides business analytics and commentary on technology trends across Ukraine.

As artificial intelligence products continue to mature, user retention across software platforms is expected to depend heavily on deep context integration and personalized user management.
