Xiaomi has added a new electric shaver to its personal care lineup, the Mijia Portable Electric Shaver Pro, built for daily use and travel.
The device features a one-piece alloy body and comes in three colors: satin gold, silver and night gray. Xiaomi said the metal construction makes the shaver more durable and gives it a more premium feel than shavers with traditional plastic bodies.
Blade design and waterproofing
One of the shaver's standout features is its surrounding shave-lock structure, which combines a dual-ring wave foil with stainless steel blades. According to Xiaomi, this design helps capture hair more effectively while reducing the chance of the blades jamming.
The shaver carries an IPX8 waterproof rating, allowing it to be rinsed directly under water after use and operated in wet conditions.
Contact sensor and battery life
Xiaomi also built in a contact sensor to make the device easier to use. The blades start automatically when the shaver touches the skin and stop on their own when it is lifted away, a system Xiaomi said improves convenience while cutting unnecessary battery use.
The shaver's most notable feature is its battery life. Xiaomi said the device can run for up to 60 days on a single charge, and it can continue operating while charging.
Pricing and availability
The Mijia Portable Electric Shaver Pro carries a regular price of 349 yuan, or about $52. Xiaomi set a launch price of 297 yuan, about $44. Pre-orders in China are expected to open the following day. Xiaomi has not said whether the shaver will be released in global markets.
