A 14-month-old boy was left in a serious condition after being struck by a car in the village of Po, in the municipality of Bombarral, Portugal, according to the GNR national guard.
The GNR said the accident occurred near a house on private property. Twenty-one personnel from the Bombarral fire service, the INEM national medical emergency institute, and the GNR were deployed to the scene.
An INEM helicopter was also activated, but the child was ultimately transported by ambulance to Hospital de Santa Maria in Lisbon.
