Hardware maker TiMate has launched the GripNGo Vault, a compact six-in-one titanium pocket tool that combines a craft knife, magnetic screwdriver, and inkless pen on Kickstarter.
The device measures 52.5 millimetres in length, weighs 45 grams, and has raised more than $35,000 (about €32,000) on the crowdfunding platform, easily surpassing its initial $2,000 target.
The concept of the GripNGo Vault is reminiscent of multi-function gadgets like the Flipper Zero, although the new tool contains no electronic components. Built entirely from titanium, the compact frame is designed for quick repairs and everyday tasks rather than heavy-duty construction work.
Inside its body, the GripNGo Vault features a central magazine housing six magnetic slots designed for four-millimetre screwdriver bits. Users can extract a bit and insert it into the hexagonal tip, which also contains a magnet to keep the bit secure while tightening or loosening screws.
Design features and optional attachments
Beyond driving screws, two of the internal slots can accommodate alternative accessories. One option is a small craft knife intended for unboxing packages or cutting ropes and thin materials. The second option is a metal-tipped pen that writes on paper, wood, or walls without using ink or requiring refills.
The entire device is manufactured using computer numerical control (CNC) machining from grade 5 titanium. Grade 5 titanium offers a high strength-to-weight ratio, making it durable without adding unnecessary bulk. The same lightweight alloy has also gained popularity in recent years for reinforcing foldable smartphone displays and aerospace components.
To keep tools secure, the GripNGo Vault uses a mechanical sliding lock that prevents bits and accessories from slipping out while carried in a pocket or bag. The exterior body features a textured surface to improve grip during use.
Availability and crowdfunding details
The device also includes eight external slots designed for tritium vials, allowing the tool to glow in the dark. These tritium capsules are sold separately as optional accessories and are not included in the standard package.
TiMate offers the tool in two distinct finishes: a sandblasted titanium finish and a black version with a physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating. PVD coating provides a hard, wear-resistant layer that protects the metal surface from scratches.
The manufacturer noted that the miniature size of the device limits the amount of leverage and torque it can apply. As a result, the tool is intended for light maintenance and emergency fixes rather than replacing full-size hand tools.
Backers can reserve the GripNGo Vault on Kickstarter for $45 (approximately €38). Initial shipments are scheduled for December 2026, though backing a crowdfunding campaign carries inherent risks regarding final delivery dates and product specifications.
