São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas of the Republicanos party has 52.9% of voter support in his bid for reelection, according to a Vox Brasil poll released Sunday. Former Finance Minister Fernando Haddad of the Workers' Party (PT) trails with 34.3%.
Other candidates polled far behind. Carlos Machado of the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB) had 1.5%, Vera Lúcia of the PSTU had 1.3%, Vivian Mendes of the Unified Socialist Workers' Party (UP) had 0.5%, and Izadora Dias of the PCO had 0.3%.
Among those surveyed, 5.5% said they would cast a blank or null vote or abstain, while 3.7% did not know or gave no opinion.
Runoff scenario
Vox Brasil also tested a possible runoff between Tarcísio and Haddad. In that simulation, Tarcísio had 53.5% of voter support, while Haddad had 35.8%.
In the runoff scenario, 3.8% said they would vote blank or null or abstain, and 6.9% did not know or gave no opinion.
Methodology
Vox Brasil interviewed 1,480 São Paulo voters in person between July 29 and 31. The margin of error is 2.55 percentage points, with a 95% confidence interval. The poll was funded by the institute itself and is registered with Brazil's Superior Electoral Court under protocol SP-00142/2026.
