The Dramatic Expression and Therapy Company Palmos will present As If, a theatrical tribute to American playwright Tennessee Williams, at Studio Mavromichali in Athens. The production premieres on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026, and runs through Dec. 30, 2026, with performances every Wednesday and Thursday at 21:00.
Director Lampros Giotis staged the show as a synthesis of four one-act plays translated by Orestis Korakianitis. The lineup includes This Property Is Condemned and Talk to Me Like the Rain, alongside Municipal Abattoir and Mister Paradise, which are being presented in Greece for the first time. Giotis also edited and translated five poems by Williams to serve as stage bridges.
Staging and themes
The production features actors Stelios Giannakos, Myrto Lelova, and Lampros Papageorgiou performing alongside musicians and visual artists. Jazz group Kukuruznik Quartet composes a live soundscape on stage. According to the production description, the musical-theatrical piece explores societal numbness toward vulnerable people, mental resilience against totalitarianism, violence, and social exclusion, and survival amid modern dystopia and fear of armed conflict.
