Sharon Stone, the 68-year-old actress, has revealed she has been abstaining from sex for quite a while, saying she has reached a point where she only wants to be with someone she genuinely cares about.
Stone made the comments during an interview on the podcast "Mayim Bialik's Breakdown" that aired on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. She spoke with host Mayim Bialik about her career and about where she currently stands in her love life.
What Stone said about being a partner
Bialik asked Stone what she is like as a partner, in the context of a discussion about patterns in relationships. Stone said she is a very good partner but that it has been a long time since she was in a relationship. She said she has been a partner to both bad partners and good ones, and that she has had good luck, bad luck and, for a considerable stretch, no luck at all. She said she has been abstaining from sex for quite some time now because she has reached the point where she really just wants to be with someone she cares for.
Looking for more than a casual relationship
Stone went on to say that now that her children have grown up, she is looking for someone who will be her partner rather than just someone to have sex with. She said she has grown somewhat tired of casual relationships, adding that at this point in her life she has no luck at all when it comes to finding one.
On the great love of her life
Asked whether she had met the great love of her life, Stone said she has experienced love in her life but does not believe she has met the great love of her life.
Marriages and family
Stone was previously married to journalist Phil Bronstein from 1998 to 2004 and to producer Michael Greenburg from 1984 to 1990. She adopted her eldest son, Roan, in 2000 while married to Bronstein. After their divorce, Stone adopted two more sons.
Stone is best known for her roles in films including "Basic Instinct" and "Casino," which earned her an Academy Award nomination. Bialik, the podcast host, is an actress known for her roles in "Blossom" and "The Big Bang Theory" and has also worked as a host of the game show "Jeopardy!"
