Samsung Galaxy S26 FE specs leak ahead of September launch

Samsung has suffered a major leak for its upcoming Galaxy S26 FE smartphone after 26 marketing images detailing the device appeared online, technology publication Android Headlines reported. The leaked materials reveal the main technical specifications, physical design, and core software capabilities of the unannounced handset ahead of its official debut.

The presentation of the Galaxy S26 FE could take place as early as September if the South Korean manufacturer maintains the release schedule it used last year. Samsung traditionally uses its Fan Edition line to package high-end features from its flagship series into a more accessible price point for consumers.

According to the leak, the Galaxy S26 FE features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The panel is built into a chassis measuring 7.4 mm in thickness with an aluminum frame and IP68 water and dust resistance certification. The smartphone is expected to arrive in three color options: Blueberry, Graphite, and Pistachio.

The AMOLED technology provides high visual contrast and vibrant color reproduction, while the 120 Hz refresh rate allows for smoother screen transitions and scrolling compared to standard displays. An IP68 rating represents a high standard of environmental protection, guaranteeing that the casing is dust-tight and capable of surviving complete immersion in shallow water.

Display and design features

Camera hardware on the Galaxy S26 FE includes a triple rear array composed of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera. Internal performance will be driven by Samsung's Exynos 2500 processor, while power is supplied by a 4,900 mAh battery that supports fast charging at 45 W.

The Exynos 2500 is Samsung's proprietary mobile system-on-chip, designed to manage complex processing workloads and graphic rendering without drawing excessive energy. The inclusion of a 4,900 mAh battery and 45 W charging provides users with extended daily operational time and rapid recharge cycles.

Software support and camera tools

The leak confirms that Samsung will provide seven years of Android operating system and security updates for the Galaxy S26 FE. The promotional materials also highlight several new software functions, including features named Horizontal Lock, My FanCam, and Audio Eraser.

A seven-year software support commitment ensures that the phone will receive operating system upgrades and critical security patches through the early 2030s. Long-term software support has become a key selling point in the smartphone market, allowing devices to remain secure and functional for extended ownership periods.

Samsung foldable device context

The leak comes as Samsung expands its broader mobile portfolio across global markets. The Galaxy Fold 8 recently became the most popular model in the company's new foldable series in Europe.

However, electronics repair organization iFixit identified a vulnerability in the design of the Galaxy Fold 8. Analysts at the repair firm noted that the weakness found in Samsung's foldable hinge mechanism could also present a challenge for upcoming foldable iPhone models developed by Apple.
