A 15-year-old teenager has been detained in the town of Tarko-Sale after stabbing his 15-year-old friend in the chest during an argument, Russian authorities said.
The regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case against the youth under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The charge relates to the intentional infliction of serious bodily harm dangerous to human life committed with the use of a weapon.
According to the department, the incident occurred after a confrontation broke out between the suspect and his acquaintance in Tarko-Sale. Remarks made by the victim during the dispute prompted the teenager to strike his friend in the chest with a sharp stabbing instrument.

The regional investigative department reported the details of the Tarko-Sale stabbing to Russian news website Lenta.ru. In a separate recent case, a 16-year-old teenager in the Ural city of Chelyabinsk received a suspended sentence following a conviction for criminal hooliganism directed against another school pupil.
