Presidential candidate Ronaldo Caiado, of PSD, announced on Tuesday that federal deputy Arnaldo Jardim, of Cidadania-SP, has joined his campaign as national mobilization coordinator.
Writing on social media, Caiado said he took great pride in having Jardim lead the campaign's national mobilization effort. He praised Jardim as a leader who proved in Congress and the São Paulo state government that strong agribusiness goes hand in hand with innovation and green energy.
Caiado added that Jardim possesses a profile combining moral authority and practical results to move Brazil forward. He noted that the campaign is gathering top talent now and will do the exact same in the presidency.
Legislative record and campaign leadership
Jardim is the author of the bill that created Fiagro, the Investment Funds in Agroindustrial Production Chains. He also served as the rapporteur for PL 2780/2024, the legislation forming the Legal Framework for Critical and Strategic Minerals.
The appointment follows another movement by the former Goiás governor's team last week, when they announced Aldo Rebelo as political coordinator of the campaign. Rebelo joined at the invitation of Caiado and Gilberto Kassab, the national president of PSD and candidate for vice president.
Jardim holds a degree in Civil Engineering and is currently serving his fifth term in the Chamber of Deputies. He previously served as secretary of Housing for the State of São Paulo under Governor Luiz Antônio Fleury, and secretary of Agriculture and Supply during the mandate of Geraldo Alckmin.
