Roborock has launched its latest high-end robot vacuum cleaner, the Qrevo Edge 2 Flow, in Spain. The device is engineered to reach difficult household spaces that conventional cleaning robots cannot access.

The new model delivers a suction power of 35,000 pascals, placing it at the top tier of automated home cleaners. Suction strength alone does not determine overall performance, as brush design, airflow sealing, surface type, and hair separation also dictate how clean a floor gets.

To clear dirt and pet hair from hard floors, the device uses Roborock's HyperForce system. It addresses brush wrapping through a Dual Anti-Tangle system, combining a DuoDivide main brush with two liftable, arc-shaped side brushes. Roborock said the setup achieves a 0% tangle rate.

Retractable sensors and edge cleaning

The Qrevo Edge 2 Flow measures 8.98 centimeters high, utilizing a retractable LiDAR navigation module known as RetractSense. The retractable sensor drops down when needed, enabling the robot to slide underneath furniture with a clearance of only 9.2 centimeters.

Roborock designed the mechanism to resolve a common limitation in autonomous cleaning. While precise mapping sensors can chart a room, they provide little value if the machine cannot physically travel beneath low sofas and cabinets.

The unit also features enhanced edge cleaning capabilities. Its roller mop can extend outward up to 44 millimeters to reach walls and furniture, while a reversible side brush sweeps into tight corners and nooks.

Advanced mopping and carpet protection

Mopping performance relies on the SpiraFlow 2.0 system, which uses 16 hydration points, a downward pressure 2.5 times higher than standard models, and rotational speeds of up to 240 revolutions per minute. Roborock said this configuration eliminates up to 99.99% of bacteria while providing uniform coverage.

To protect carpets after mopping wet floors, the Qrevo Edge 2 Flow Set uses a system called Roller Shield to separate wet and dry zones. The mop automatically lifts by up to 15 millimeters whenever built-in sensors detect carpeted surfaces.

Automated robot vacuums use specialized sensors and motorized mops to navigate interior spaces without manual intervention. Modern high-end models frequently combine vacuuming with pressurized wet-mopping modules to handle multiple floor types in a single pass.

Self-cleaning dock and artificial intelligence

The device comes with a self-cleaning base station designed to minimize manual maintenance. The dock washes the mop pads with water heated to 75 degrees Celsius, dries them using hot air at 63 degrees Celsius, and automatically empties the dustbin.

According to Roborock, the automated dust collection system allows up to 65 days of operation without requiring a manual bin emptying. The base station also monitors dirt levels in the rinse water, extending the washing cycle or triggering a re-mop if a section of floor requires extra cleaning.

For navigation, the cleaner uses Reactive AI to identify and avoid more than 280 types of household obstacles. The artificial intelligence system also includes features for pet owners, enabling the robot to locate pets, capture photographs, make video calls, and temporarily pause its brushes so it does not startle animals.

System operations are coordinated through SmartPlan 3.0, which tailors cleaning schedules to individual home layouts. Users can control the vacuum using the onboard voice assistant Hello Rocky without a Wi-Fi connection, or connect the unit to Matter, Alexa, Siri, and Google Home smart home platforms.
