At those retail rates, purchasing 100 US dollars at branch counters cost 4,599 hryvnias on Monday, while 100 euros cost 5,160 hryvnias.

Card transactions and payment rates

Card settlement rates at the lender showed a mixed performance on the same day. The dollar card rate held steady at 45.87 hryvnias, leaving digital retail payments unchanged. In contrast, the euro rate for card purchases rose by 53 kopecks to reach 51.81 hryvnias.

Official central bank valuations

The movements at commercial counters coincided with updated benchmarks from the National Bank of Ukraine. The central bank set the official exchange rate for November 2 at 45.35 hryvnias per dollar, which represented a strengthening of 18 kopecks for the domestic currency against the previous valuation. The official euro rate remained unchanged at 50.68 hryvnias per euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine, headquartered in Kyiv, serves as the country's central monetary authority, regulating the financial sector and publishing daily official reference rates that anchor financial settlements across the economy. PrivatBank, Ukraine's largest commercial financial institution, operates an extensive retail branch and cash dispenser network across the nation. The state took full ownership of the lender following its nationalisation in 2016. The national currency, the Ukrainian hryvnia, is subdivided into 100 kopecks.

Wider banking sector averages

Across the wider Ukrainian banking sector, average retail rates on November 2 showed minor adjustments. The average selling rate for the US dollar fell by 2 kopecks to 46.02 hryvnias per dollar, while commercial banks bought dollars at an average price of 45.28 hryvnias.

The average bank euro selling rate edged up by 1 kopeck to 51.40 hryvnias per euro, with institutions purchasing the European currency at an average of 50.54 hryvnias. Foreign currency cash exchanges remain a standard savings mechanism for Ukrainian households, with commercial lenders updating cash and card rates daily alongside central bank benchmarks.
