Poll: Lyra and Campos tied in Pernambuco governor’s race

Datafolha poll shows Governor Raquel Lyra and ex-Recife mayor João Campos statistically tied in both rounds of the Pernambuco gubernatorial race.

Governor Raquel Lyra (PSD) and former Recife mayor João Campos (PSB) are statistically tied in both the first and second rounds of the race for the government of Pernambuco, according to a Datafolha poll released on July 31.

In a simulated runoff, Lyra leads with 49 percent against Campos’s 45 percent, a gap that falls within the survey’s three-point margin of error. Four percent said they would vote blank, null, or for neither candidate, and two percent were undecided.

In the first round, Lyra holds 48 percent to Campos’s 42 percent. Ivan Moraes (Psol) and Camila Falcão (UP) are tied at one percent each. Blank, null, or no-one accounts for five percent, with two percent undecided.

The poll surveyed 1,022 Pernambuco residents between July 28 and 30, with a confidence level of 95 percent. It is registered with Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court under protocol PE-04519/2026.
