Polina Dibrova has filed a five million ruble defamation lawsuit in Moscow against Elena Tovstik over damaging social media allegations.
The claim was formally submitted to the Nikulinsky District Court of Moscow following an online post published by Tovstik in July 2026.
According to the official Telegram channel of Moscow courts of general jurisdiction, the legal action was initiated to protect Dibrova's honor, dignity, and business reputation.
In her legal filing, Dibrova requested that the court order Tovstik to delete the social media post and publish an official refutation of the claims.
Dibrova is also seeking five million rubles in financial compensation from the defendant for moral harm caused by the online publication.
The monetary demand represents a substantial financial claim under Russian civil defamation proceedings.
Defamation claim and social media post
Information that Dibrova decided to take legal action against Tovstik first emerged in July 2026 after the controversial post appeared online.
The dispute arose after Tovstik published a message on social media accusing Dibrova of having an intimate relationship with her husband, Roman Tovstik.
Tovstik highlighted that the relationship took place while Dibrova was her close personal friend and served as the godmother to her son.
Under Russian civil law, actions for the protection of honor, dignity, and business reputation allow plaintiffs to request both the deletion of false statements and monetary compensation for non-pecuniary harm.
Background of the parties
Dibrova is the former wife of Dmitry Dibrov, a veteran Russian television presenter and journalist famous for hosting popular nationwide broadcasts including Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
Elena Tovstik was married to entrepreneur Roman Tovstik prior to the public controversy and subsequent separation of both couples.
Both the Tovstiks and the Dibrovs officially divorced at the end of September following the fallout from the public accusations.
Speaking about the reasons for her separation from her husband, Dibrova stated that she had begun experiencing romantic feelings for Roman Tovstik.
Moscow court proceedings
The lawsuit is now being processed by the Nikulinsky District Court, a primary judicial body in the Western Administrative Okrug of Moscow.

The court has not yet announced a scheduled date for the preliminary hearing in the case.
