PLD Submits Membership Roll to Central Electoral Board

The Dominican Liberation Party submitted its membership roll to the Central Electoral Board on Monday, fulfilling the requirements of Article 9 of Law 33-18 on Political Parties, Groupings and Movements. In an official statement, the political organization did not report the total number of affiliates contained in the filing delivered to the electoral body.

PLD entrega a la JCE su padrón de miembros, pero no informa cuántos afiliados tiene

The submission was carried out by a party commission made up of Danilo Díaz, a member of the Political Committee and alternate delegate to the Central Electoral Board (JCE); Mayobanex Escoto, Secretary of Organization and member of the Political Committee; and Bienvenido Casado, PLD delegate to the JCE Information Technology Directorate.

Electronic Submission and Electoral Deadlines

According to the organization, the membership roll was submitted in electronic format through a letter addressed to JCE President Román Jáquez Liranzo and the members of the plenary. JCE Secretary General Sonne Beltré Ramírez received the document at the general secretariat.

October 3 was the deadline established by the JCE for the delivery of the document, but the electoral authority granted an extension until September 2. In its letter, the PLD explained that its roster of members remains under permanent update as new affiliates join during swearing-in ceremonies held in different parts of the country.

The party also stated that the list incorporates leaders and militants who have returned to the organization through the Return Home program, as well as individuals from other political organizations who have joined its ranks.

Parallel Submission by the PRM

The deposit of the membership roll occurred on the same day that the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) reported delivering a registry of 1,551,727 militants to the JCE. The PLD did not include an equivalent membership total in its communication.
