The vehicle has been developed specifically for endurance sports car competition, according to a correspondent from news outlet LIGA.net reporting from the international trade fair. The display links the car directly to the 2026 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of the world's most famous endurance races.
Under the bonnet, the Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 is powered by a 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine that generates approximately 560 horsepower. The sports car weighs 1,360 kilograms, measures 4.746 metres in total length, and has an overall width of 2.049 metres.
For competition in the FIA World Endurance Championship, the vehicle features a Balance of Performance system set by racing regulations. The system adjusts technical limits across participating models to balance power output, weight, and performance among competing cars.

Mercedes-AMG serves as the dedicated high-performance motorsport and sports car subsidiary of German automaker Mercedes-Benz. The unveiling of the endurance racer occurred alongside several other automotive announcements at the Berlin trade event. German carmaker Volkswagen introduced its new electric ID. Polo model at the exhibition, featuring a front-wheel electric drive system.
The electric hatchback will be offered in three distinct power output configurations producing 85 kW (116 hp), 99 kW (135 hp), and 155 kW (211 hp).
Chinese technology manufacturer Xiaomi also presented its SU7 and SU7 Ultra electric vehicles at IFA 2026. The company formally confirmed the launch year for its electric vehicles in the German market during the trade show.
