Peruvian television host Maju Mantilla was seen publicly alongside her estranged husband, businessman Gustavo Salcedo, on August 23, 2026, at a rowing competition where she took part in the award ceremony and handed him and his teammates their medals.
The event was organized by Peru's National Rowing Federation. Images shared by the entertainment account Instarándula showed Mantilla staying close to Salcedo throughout the ceremony and photographing him during the competition.
Appearance draws attention after separation
Mantilla's presence stood out because of the couple's separation and recent rumors linking Salcedo romantically to María Pía Vallejos. Despite the speculation, the former beauty queen was seen supporting him publicly at the event.
Mantilla, who won the Miss World title in 2004 and later became a television presenter in Peru, has continued to make headlines over her separation from Salcedo even as she stepped back from hosting duties.
Family turned out at Club de Regatas Lima
The competition took place at the Club de Regatas Lima, where Salcedo had the support of his family, including his children, who were on hand to cheer him on.
Salcedo also documented the event on his Instagram stories. He shared an image from his training sessions with a caption imagining his children asking him why he trained so hard, and later posted a photo of his medals, writing that his children would understand it someday.
Sister sends tribute after the race
Salcedo's sister, Carolina, posted an emotional tribute to him on social media after the competition. She wrote that he had spent more than 30 years in the boat doing what he loves most, giving it everything, and told him he would always be the best, calling him her brother.
The appearance comes amid other recent developments involving Mantilla, including confirmation from television host Ethel Pozo that a program she and Mantilla had been set to co-host was cancelled after they had already recorded material up to its promotional trailer.
