Lima to host 25th anniversary Zumba event in San Isidro

Lima will host the Lima Se Mueve 2026 Zumba dance fitness festival on October 11 at Colegio Alfonso Ugarte in San Isidro. The mass gathering marks the 25th anniversary of the global fitness brand with a large-scale international production.

The event is scheduled to run for more than five consecutive hours, starting at 9:00 a.m. on the outdoor esplanade of the school complex at Avenida Paseo de la Republica 3530. Organisers confirmed the session is open to the general public of all fitness levels, requiring no prior dance experience or instructor certification.

Unlike technical instructor certifications or private training workshops, the gathering is structured as an open public festival featuring live music, stage lights, custom choreography, and dynamic group performances. Online ticket sales are currently open through the official ticketing portal AXESSPERU.COM.

International lineup led by Chilean presenter

Chilean dancer, presenter, and communicator Rodrigo Diaz headlines the international roster of presenters arriving in Lima for the showcase. Diaz achieved national fame in Chile after winning the television talent series Rojo Fama Contrafama, which broadcast on Television Nacional de Chile in the 2000s.

Serving as a Zumba Educational Specialist since 2006, Diaz has spent nearly two decades leading instructor certification courses and major fitness events across South America. In the global Zumba organization, specialists in this role act as master trainers authorized to educate and license new fitness instructors.

Featured guest instructors from Mexico and the United States

Mexican Zumba Jammer William Villasenor, known internationally by the moniker El Charro, will also take the stage during the five-hour program. Villasenor is a frequent presenter at the annual Zumba Instructor Convention in Orlando, Florida, an event that draws thousands of fitness professionals worldwide.

Perú se prepara para 'Lima Se Mueve 2026: The Fitness Experience' este 11 de octubre en San Isidro, un evento masivo de Zumba que celebra sus 25 años.

Over his career, Villasenor has conducted masterclasses and performance workshops in more than 30 countries across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. As a Zumba Jammer, he specializes in developing complex Latin choreography routines for licensed group exercise instructors.

United States based master trainer Edith Gonzalez brings more than 15 years of international experience to the Lima event. Gonzalez has taught extensive masterclasses across North America, focusing on technical precision and multi-level participant engagement.

She has played a key role in promoting specialized Zumba modalities, including Zumba Toning, Aqua Zumba, and Zumba Sentao. Toning incorporates weighted sticks to build muscular endurance, Aqua adapts rhythms for low-impact water resistance, and Sentao utilizes chairs to target core stability.

South American presenters and venue details

Argentine Zumba Jammer and fitness influencer Flor Salgado completes the international guest presenter lineup. Salgado has spearheaded mass fitness events and specialized choreography workshops across Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile, featuring high-intensity routines set to varied Latin rhythms.

Created in the late 1990s, Zumba expanded from a Latin-inspired dance class into an international fitness movement combining salsa, merengue, cumbia, and reggaeton with aerobic conditioning. The 25th anniversary gathering in Lima aims to connect long-time enthusiasts and first-time dancers in a single venue.

The host site, Colegio Nacional Alfonso Ugarte in San Isidro, is a historic public educational institution whose large central esplanade along Paseo de la Republica regularly hosts outdoor cultural and athletic events. The five-hour session begins at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2026, with tickets available via AXESSPERU.COM.
