The legal action stems from a video titled Borodina and Serdyukov: Wretched husbands from Dom-2 / Fake gifts, which Stepanova published on social media at the beginning of 2026. In the online broadcast, the psychologist provided detailed psychological profiles of the television presenter and her spouse. Russian news outlet Izvestia first reported the court filings on September 22, 2026, citing official case materials. The case is being reviewed by the Petrogradsky District Court of Saint Petersburg, a primary district court in Russia's second-largest city. A judicial hearing for the case has been scheduled to take place on October 29, 2026.
Borodina is a well-known media personality who gained national prominence presenting Dom-2, a major long-running reality television show in Russian broadcasting. Stepanova publicly confirmed information about the lawsuit on her Telegram channel and displayed a photo of the judicial summons to her followers. Cookware and small home appliance manufacturer Tefal previously filed a lawsuit against Stepanova, accusing the psychologist of copyright infringement in connection with her media activities.
Tefal is a French manufacturer known globally for non-stick cookware and small kitchen appliances, operating as a subsidiary of the international consumer goods group Groupe SEB.
