British television presenter Kirstie Allsopp has been airlifted to hospital after suffering a serious fall on a steep coastal path during her birthday celebrations in Devon.
The 55-year-old broadcaster was visiting Welcombe Mouth beach in the county of Devon with her family to celebrate her birthday when the accident occurred. She was walking along a steep trail near the shoreline when she suddenly slipped and fell, leaving her requiring urgent medical treatment. Members of her family alerted emergency services to the incident.
Paramedics dispatched a helicopter to transport Allsopp from the beach to hospital for emergency care. Doctors subsequently performed surgery on her leg, and she is expected to return home in the near future to continue her recovery.
