The Tikhiye Krylya group of companies, part of the Kalashnikov Concern, will present the Legioner G29s unmanned aerial vehicle at the Arctic Regions forum in Arkhangelsk, Russia. The concern's press service announced the news.
The drone is adapted for flights in Arctic conditions and can deliver small cargo, carry out monitoring and conduct ice reconnaissance. The Legioner has a flight range of 550 kilometers and can stay airborne for more than five hours.
Engine options for cold climates
Tikhiye Krylya said it would offer users in northern regions a version of the Legioner fitted with a gasoline main engine, which the company said is the most effective option at sub-zero temperatures. The company said it could also supply similar drones fitted with electric engines instead.
Kalashnikov Concern head Alan Lushnikov previously said the Vikhr anti-tank missile had been redesigned to counter drones.
