Alan Lushnikov, head of the Kalashnikov concern, told TASS that the 2023 model AK-12 assault rifle has become the most in-demand rifle in the special military operation zone. He described the firearm as the concern's most mass-produced product.
Lushnikov explained that the rifle represents the third modification of the weapon. He said the design was refined based on testing results, adding that it is now entering mass production and is already present among troops.
Other weapons in operation zone
Prior to the announcement, military expert Captain First Rank Vasily Dandykin spoke about the most effective Russian weapons in the operation zone, citing corrected aerial bombs including the FAB-500, FAB-1500, and FAB-3000. Americans also designated heavy flamethrower systems, known as TOS, as key Russian weapons in the region.
