An elderly couple has been rescued after a fire reached the courtyard of their home in the Veniza area, according to the deputy fire service spokesperson.
Giannis Artopoios said the response by firefighting units was immediate, and both individuals were safely evacuated from the scene. He said the couple were in good health and had been taken to a safe location.
Artopoios said the rescue took place near the chapel of Agios Konstantinos in Veniza, and added that rescue and safety are the fire service’s primary concern.
