Developer Crow Holdings and operator CleanArc Data Centers plan to build a 245-megawatt data center in Dallas, Texas, replacing the Dallas Market Hall. The partners intend to replace the hall with a five-story digital infrastructure facility across 40 acres, with the first phase expected to begin operating by the end of 2027.
Dallas Market Hall is no longer accepting new event applications. Complex spokesperson Cole Dougherty said booking future events was paused several months ago while management considers options for strategic redevelopment of the property.
The broader Dallas Market Center opened in the 1950s and covers about 5 million square feet, or 460,000 square meters. Dallas-based private investment and real estate development company Crow Holdings owns the complex. The 202,000-square-foot Market Hall opened in 1960 and was the only building in the complex open to the public, hosting trade shows and concerts.
Zoning Documents and Project Details
Crow Holdings first announced plans for a Dallas data center in January 2026, but initially described developing a campus on vacant land. New zoning documents reveal the project will replace Market Hall. The development fits into the company's broader U.S. digital infrastructure push, which includes a portfolio of more than 3 gigawatts of potential capacity across multiple states.
CleanArc Data Centers was launched in 2024 by clean energy investment company 547 Energy. The operator focuses on building hyperscale data centers with capacities over 300 megawatts and sizes from 200 to 700 acres. Beyond the Dallas project, CleanArc is developing a large facility in Caroline County, Virginia, and evaluating sites in other U.S. regions.
