Blogger and translator Dmitry Puchkov, known as Goblin, criticized what he described as growing tolerance toward prostitutes in society. He made the comments on Sputnik radio, with a recording later posted on the social network VKontakte.
Puchkov said society no longer condemns prostitutes, adding that people themselves had brought this on. He questioned why sex workers and pornographic film performers are now referred to as an "actress from adult films," asking what exactly is meant by "adult" in that description. He said he had gotten worked up over the issue.
Past comments on social attitudes
Puchkov also noted that sex workers used to be considered disreputable but have since become popular figures. He previously said he was concerned about members of Generation Z, describing them as poorly raised. Before that, he had urged Russians who constantly complain to instead find something productive to do.
