Colleague pays tribute

Former colleague Penny Hamilton-Smith described Fairweather as a wonderful and talented man. She said that as he grew older, the wrinkles on his face formed a smile, because he was happy, always confident and always cheerful, and that he always thought well of people.

Decades on Australian television

Fairweather worked at the Australian television network Nine from the 1960s to the 1980s. He helped create several programs, including the popular children's show Here's Humphrey, and hosted a number of shows himself. His face was familiar to a whole generation of Australians.
