Ariel Konstantinidi Hits Back at Comments on Her Skin

Greek actress Ariel Konstantinidi said people are now focusing their criticism on her skin rather than on her decision to become pregnant at 53, and that she will not hide the acne marks on her face to avoid comments.

Konstantinidi gave an interview to the magazine Loipon, in which she discussed the reaction she received over her pregnancy at 53. She said that people are now less concerned with that decision and more focused on the appearance of her skin, which has been affected by rosacea acne that worsened after her pregnancy.

She said that people now focus on her skin, and that everyone expresses whatever they carry inside themselves. She said it does not affect her and does not touch her. She said she has rosacea acne, which worsened because of pregnancy hormones and is still affected by certain foods. She said she will not hide or cover anything just because some people want to comment, and that commenting on a person's appearance is rude. She said she prefers kind and honest people.

Raising her own children

Asked whether the difficulties she faced at a young age had influenced the way she is raising her own children, Konstantinidi said they had. She said those experiences shaped her as a person, and that she could have collapsed under everything she went through and not be where she is today. Instead, she said she tried to see how pain could become strength. She said it all depends on whether a person lets a difficulty consume them or uses it to get closer to their own truth.

The interview was published by journalist Ioanna Marinou on August 7, 2026.
