Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro Expected to Cost Up to $300 More

Apple is expected to raise prices on the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max ahead of its September launch, according to a report cited by 9to5Mac from analyst Jeff Pu.

Pu said the iPhone 18 Pro would sell for $250 to $300 more than last year’s model, putting the entry-level 256GB version at $1,349 to $1,399. The iPhone 18 Pro Max would be priced at $1,449 to $1,499.

The analyst attributed the increases to higher memory costs and the new A20 Pro 2nm chip, noting that memory module prices rose fourfold over the past year. Analysts surveyed by The Wall Street Journal had also previously cited $1,399 as a likely starting price for the iPhone 18 Pro.

Pu said Apple could have absorbed the costs by accepting lower margins, but considered that scenario unlikely. The company sharply raised prices on MacBook, iPad and other products in late June.

The new iPhones are expected to be announced in mid-September. Apple is set to show the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max and a foldable iPhone at the event, with the standard iPhone 18 not expected until spring 2027.
