A traveler identified as Thierry booked a rental property through a website that included late-arrival insurance for his vacation, according to a report by TF1info. His flight was canceled, forcing him to arrive at the accommodation a day later than planned.

When Thierry filed a claim for reimbursement, the insurer refused to cover the loss. A lawyer interviewed on the program said the refusal stemmed from the specific wording Thierry used in his request.

The Wording That Cost Him
The lawyer explained that Thierry had written "flight postponement" instead of "delayed arrival" when describing what happened. That distinction, she said, was enough for the insurer to deny the claim for his lost day.
As a result, Thierry will need to ask the insurer to reopen his file so he can amend the stated reason for the missed day, in order to seek reimbursement again.
