Spain's PP tops 807,000 members as Feijóo-era growth holds

Spain's Partido Popular closed 2025 with 807,792 members, a net gain of 2,878 over the previous year, according to annual accounts the party filed with the Tribunal de Cuentas.

The figures show that PP began 2025 with 804,914 registered members and ended the year with 807,792. The party's leadership said the trend reflects a social-base expansion strategy pursued by Alberto Núñez Feijóo since he took over as national party president in April 2022.

The membership growth also lifted income from dues. PP collected more than 3.5 million euros in member contributions during 2025, up from 3.2 million in 2024 and broadly in line with the figure recorded in 2023.

Steady climb since 2023

The 2025 gain follows a larger increase the previous year, when membership rose from 800,519 to 804,914, a jump of 4,395. Taken together, the party has added 7,273 members between the end of 2023 and the end of 2025, according to the same accounts.

Member dues are one of PP's main sources of private financing. The filed accounts also show that contributions from public officeholders reached 4.3 million euros in 2025, a separate and larger revenue stream than dues from ordinary members.

The party said the membership expansion has coincided with stronger territorial implantation following recent electoral cycles, though the accounts do not break down regional figures.
