Sofia Vergara and Imagine Dragons singer Dan Reynolds were strictly enjoying a friendly dinner with mutual friends in Los Angeles, a source has clarified.
The clarification followed images published by celebrity website TMZ on Sunday, October 25, which showed the Colombian actress and the American musician touching hands across a dining table and triggered dating speculation.
A source who spoke to People magazine dismissed talk of a romance between the two stars, explaining that the gathering was simply a friendly group dinner. The insider noted that Vergara and Reynolds were accompanied at the table by two other companions, including beauty businesswoman Anastasia Soare.
People reported the insider account on October 26, effectively countering rumours that a relationship had developed following their recent breakups.
Recent splits and dating history
The Los Angeles dinner occurred only weeks after news surfaced of Reynolds' separation from actress Minka Kelly following a four-year relationship.
Reynolds and Kelly kept their romance largely out of the public eye throughout their four years together. Their final public appearance as a couple took place in May 2026 in Los Angeles, where they walked a red carpet together for the first time.
Reynolds is the lead vocalist and songwriter for the Las Vegas pop-rock band Imagine Dragons, known globally for arena anthems including Radioactive and Believer. Kelly is an American actress who earned acclaim on the television drama Friday Night Lights before starring in the series Titans.
Sofia Vergara marriage and relationships
Vergara has also experienced significant relationship changes in recent years. The television star separated from her husband, actor Joe Manganiello, in 2023 after seven years of marriage.
In January 2025, Vergara appeared to confirm her split from orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman. Speaking to television programme Access Hollywood, she said that for the new year she wished for health, money, and a partner.
Vergara achieved worldwide fame playing Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the long-running comedy series Modern Family, earning multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, and later joined America's Got Talent as a judge. Manganiello is recognised for his roles in the television drama True Blood and the Magic Mike film series.
Soare, who joined Vergara and Reynolds at the table, is the founder of cosmetics company Anastasia Beverly Hills and has long been a close friend of Vergara in California.
