The General Secretariat of Public Integrity (SGIP) announced a new alert system on Tuesday, August 11, for citizens to report possible acts of corruption in institutions of the Executive Branch. The mechanism operates through a QR code scanned from a mobile device.
After scanning the code, users can choose between three options to submit an alert: sending an email, completing an anonymous online form, or using ARA (Alert Registration Assistant), which is available through WhatsApp.
Reporting Options and Evidence
According to the SGIP, the system aims to facilitate quick and confidential reporting from anywhere in the country. Citizens can provide information about events they consider irregular and identify the public institution involved.
The tool also permits users to include details about people who are allegedly connected to the reported events. Users can attach documents, photographs, or other files as supporting evidence.
The SGIP said fighting corruption requires citizen participation. The agency added that implementing this mechanism aims to expand available channels for citizens to participate in identifying and reporting possible irregularities within the Executive Branch.
