Citing sources familiar with the matter, the outlet reported that Combs has had his release date moved forward by nearly a full month. The artist was previously scheduled to leave custody on March 2, 2028, but records now show he will leave his cell on February 6 of that year.

Officials have not disclosed the reasons behind the adjustment to the musician's custody timeline. However, the decision marks the third time that Combs has seen his release schedule altered, with his projected departure date having already been changed twice before.

The scheduling update follows reports of disciplinary trouble for the high-profile prisoner. Combs was recently moved into solitary confinement after allegedly becoming involved in fights and using contraband mobile phones while serving his term.

Prison incidents and hospital treatment

The solitary confinement placement came after a violent episode inside the facility. In mid-October 2026, Combs was rushed to hospital from prison for emergency care after surviving an attack carried out by another inmate.

Combs, who has also recorded under the names Puff Daddy and Diddy, is one of the most prominent and influential figures in American hip-hop history. He rose to international stardom during the 1990s after founding Bad Boy Records, a label that played a central role in shaping the modern commercial rap landscape.

Through Bad Boy Records, Combs produced and released landmark albums, guiding the careers of major rap and R&B performers including the Notorious B.I.G., Faith Evans and Mase. Over a music career spanning more than three decades, he won three Grammy Awards, topped global sales charts, and expanded into fashion and lifestyle brands, including the Sean John clothing line.

Combs remains behind bars as he serves out his sentence, with his departure from prison now scheduled for February 6, 2028.
