A Russian strike destroyed a Nova Poshta postal terminal in the Kharkiv region on August 2, killing one employee, the company said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
The company said an employee of a carrier company at the terminal had died as a result of what it called a hostile attack. It added that it was in continuous contact with the victim’s family and was providing all necessary assistance and support.
Nova Poshta said it had promptly reorganized its logistics and that customers could find updated shipment information through tracking in its app.
Oleg Sinehubov, head of the regional military administration, said at 11:45 local time that the strike on a suburb of Kharkiv had set fire to trucks, containers, and equipment at the postal terminal. He reported at 13:19 that the fire at the scene had been contained.
The company said the terminal was struck twice.
Russian forces regularly attack Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure across all regions of the country using strike drones, missiles, guided aerial bombs, and multiple-launch rocket systems, according to Ukrainian authorities and international organizations, who characterize the strikes as war crimes carried out with deliberate intent.
Russian leadership denies that its armed forces deliberately target civilian infrastructure, civilians, hospitals, schools, and energy and water facilities during the full-scale war.
