Model Romina Gachoy dedicated an emotional message to Gia, the daughter of Angie Jibaja and Jean Paul Santamaria, on her 15th birthday.
Speaking during a broadcast on Peruvian radio station Onda Cero, the Uruguayan model expressed her deep affection for the teenager and stated that acting as her mother was one of the most important experiences of her life.
Gachoy, who is married to Peruvian singer Jean Paul Santamaria, has helped raise Gia alongside her father in Lima. Santamaria shares the teenager with Peruvian television personality and model Angie Jibaja.
Radio tribute and birthday plans
During the radio show, Gachoy addressed Gia directly to share her feelings on the milestone birthday. She told the teenager that she loved her with all her heart, called her sweetheart, and described her arrival in her life as something wonderful and the best thing that had ever happened to her.
The former reality show star said that being a mother to Gia was one of the most beautiful feelings she could experience in her heart. She promised to remain by the teenager's side for the rest of her life and expressed great pride in the person Gia was becoming.
Gachoy also revealed that she and Santamaria were working together to arrange a special 15th birthday celebration for Gia, as well as a family trip. In Latin American cultures, a 15th birthday, known as a quinceanera, marks a major milestone transition into young womanhood.
Recent concerns over Angie Jibaja
The birthday tribute followed statements Gachoy made days earlier regarding the current situation of Jibaja. Concerns arose after television show Magaly TV, La Firme broadcast footage of Jibaja in the early morning hours.
The program showed Jibaja alongside her Chilean partner, Jonathan Pettit, in red-light areas of the La Victoria district in Lima. Magaly TV, La Firme is a prominent Peruvian entertainment news show hosted by journalist Magaly Medina, while La Victoria is a dense urban area in the capital.
Gachoy explained that she had been in regular communication with Jibaja for several months. She admitted that watching the broadcasted images was difficult and sad, given her ongoing connection with Jibaja and her close relationship with Jibaja's children.
She stated that despite the troubling situation broadcast on television, communication between the family members had remained strong and positive over recent months.
