Peru Dollar Exchange Rate: August 2, 2026

The U.S. dollar is trading at 3.375 soles to buy and 3.400 soles to sell in Peru’s parallel market on Sunday, August 2, 2026, according to the tracking site cuantoestáeldolar.pe.

Bloomberg preliminary data put the dollar’s opening rate at 3.3985 soles, while Peru’s tax authority Sunat listed a reference rate of 3.391 soles to buy and 3.400 soles to sell.

Bank Rates

Exchange rates at Peru’s main commercial banks varied significantly on Sunday. BCP quoted 3.525 soles to buy and 3.540 to sell. BBVA offered 3.468 to buy and 3.608 to sell. Scotiabank’s rates stood at 3.519 to buy and 3.558 to sell. Banco de la Nacion listed 3.480 to buy and 3.600 to sell, while Interbank quoted 3.493 to buy and 3.576 to sell.

Why the Exchange Rate Matters

Finance expert Jorge Carrillo Acosta explained that the exchange rate represents the price of the dollar in any given country, divided into buy and sell figures. The Sunat rate, he added, serves as a reference for tax purposes, helping individuals and businesses record the correct exchange rate in their accounts and tax filings.

Economist Jorge Luis Ojeda stressed that Peru is heavily dependent on the exchange rate, noting that a large portion of the country’s economy is tied to imported goods purchased in dollars. Key examples include wheat, which affects the livestock industry and bread production, as well as fuel sourced from international markets, both of which feed into the basic household consumption basket.
