The script for a biographical feature film about the late heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne has been completed, according to his son Jack Osbourne. Speaking in an interview with E! News, the 40-year-old television producer and presenter stated that production on the long-awaited project is proceeding as planned.

The movie, which was first announced in 2021, has reached a key stage as producers actively negotiate with prospective directors. Osbourne confirmed that the family and production team already have a specific actor in mind to portray his father, although he explained that he is not currently permitted to reveal who has been chosen.

Director Discussions and Casting

Osbourne expressed optimism about the progress of the project, explaining that initial discussions regarding the film have been encouraging. He noted that the team remains determined to push the film forward, adding that the completed movie will be impressive if everything goes according to plan.

Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic frontman of the pioneering heavy metal group Black Sabbath and a celebrated solo artist, died at the age of 76 in July 2025. Known widely as the Prince of Darkness, the British vocalist earned international fame over a career spanning more than five decades before becoming a reality television star.

Honouring a Musical Legacy

Addressing the motivation behind the biopic, Jack Osbourne stated that his goal is to create a film that honors his father's legacy while delivering what fans expect. Speaking about his work with his mother, Sharon Osbourne, he explained that his core principle during family business discussions is to give the fans what they want.

He added that his father spent his life writing music and touring specifically for his audience, noting that this commitment to fans also inspired their family television programs and has defined their work for many years.
