A 47-year-old woman in Orenburg Oblast, Russia, has been sentenced to eight years in prison after fatally stabbing her husband with a kitchen knife during a domestic quarrel.
The local resident was convicted of the lethal attack following an investigation into the fatal stabbing, which occurred inside an apartment on Volgogradskaya Street in the regional area.
Investigators said the incident took place during the night of April 18 while the married couple were sharing a meal and drinking. An argument broke out between the spouses, during which the woman grabbed a kitchen knife and inflicted multiple fatal wounds on her husband. He died from the severity of his injuries.
The court ordered the woman to serve her eight-year sentence in a general-regime penal colony. The ruling was confirmed by the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Orenburg Oblast in an official statement published on the MAX platform.
