National Grid has slashed the size of its top management team from 13 to eight in a major executive shakeup. Britain's electricity network operator is reducing its group executive committee to "sharpen execution, improve performance and increase accountability".
The London-based firm is combining its leadership structure under new UK and US presidents. The restructuring comes as National Grid embarks on its largest-ever investment programme, pledging to spend £70 billion over the next five years to modernise and expand energy networks in the UK and North-East US.
Executive appointments and leadership structure
Cordi O'Hara, who currently heads electricity distribution in the UK, will be appointed UK president on September 1. Meanwhile, Sally Librera, who runs the New York business, will become interim president of the US operations.
