The controversy emerged after Hurtado appeared on the podcast Behind Social Networks to discuss her career and childhood experiences. Viewers quickly raised questions online after noticing that the interview did not address the legal status of her father, a former television host known as Chibolín who is currently in custody.

Responding directly to critics, Hurtado explained that the interview was intended to focus on her personal professional journey. She maintained that as adults, each member of her family is responsible for their own affairs.

According to allegations outlined in the case, Andrés Hurtado and Peralta allegedly intervened to secure the return of four gold ingots that had been seized from Miu Lei. Investigators contend that an illegal bribe of nearly one million dollars was paid for the management of the assets.
