Camera manufacturer Insta360 has introduced the Luna Pro, a new stabilized handheld video camera equipped with a single one-inch Sony image sensor and 4K vertical video recording capabilities, priced at 3,399 yuan, or approximately $505.
The device succeeds the Luna Ultra model in the company's hardware lineup. A primary feature of the Luna Pro is its specialized vertical shooting mode. The camera records standard video in 8K resolution, and when switched into the 9:16 vertical orientation, it preserves a full 4K resolution output.
Insta360 has built the Luna Pro with a three-axis hardware stabilization system to minimize camera shake during movement, alongside artificial intelligence algorithms designed for automated object tracking. The camera is equipped with a Leica Summicron f/1.8 lens that provides a dynamic range of up to 14 stops. Additional camera features include 4x zoom capability, three Leica color rendering profiles, and dedicated AI image processing routines.
Energy for the Luna Pro comes from a 1,550 mAh internal battery that provides up to four hours of continuous operational runtime. Fast charging enables the battery to reach an 80 percent charge in 23 minutes. For internal data, the camera includes 47 GB of built-in storage. The product package also includes a wireless microphone and a detachable touchscreen remote control that maintains a wireless connection up to a range of 20 meters.
