South Korean K-pop group BTS opens the South American leg of their Arirang world tour at San Marcos Stadium in Lima, Peru, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, marking the first of three scheduled performances in the capital city.

Concert promoter Live Nation confirmed that the band conducts soundcheck until 2:00 p.m. local time, with venue doors opening for attendees at 4:00 p.m. and grandstand access beginning at 5:00 p.m. ahead of the 8:00 p.m. showtime. Ticketing agency Ticketmaster announced the sale of new tickets for all three concert dates, which include follow-up shows on Friday, October 9, and Saturday, October 10.
Stadium Access and Campus Facilities
Concertgoers attending the shows at San Marcos Stadium can enter the university grounds through four designated access gates. Gate 1 provides entry connecting with Avenida Venezuela, Gate 3 links to Avenida Universitaria and Avenida Ramón Herrera, Gate 5 connects with Avenida Germán Amézaga, and Gate 8 provides access from Avenida Óscar R. Benavides, formerly known as Avenida Colonial.

To prevent crowd gathering on surrounding city streets, promoter Live Nation implemented internal waiting and pre-loading areas inside the campus of the National University of San Marcos. The organizers stated that these designated spaces can accommodate approximately 80 percent of the concert capacity, allowing fans to remain within the operational perimeter where hydration stations, food vendors, and restroom facilities are provided.

San Marcos Stadium is located within the main campus of the National University of San Marcos in Lima. Founded in 1551, the state institution is recognized as the oldest continuously operating university in the Americas. Live Nation Entertainment, an American entertainment promoter based in California, handles venue logistics and international event production for major global tours.

Prohibited Items and Security Operations
Event organizers established strict venue security rules restricting specific items from the stadium grounds. Attendees are barred from bringing selfie sticks, cameras with professional or detachable lenses, GoPro equipment, and live transmission devices into the concert site.

Security restrictions also prohibit aerosol deodorant containers, umbrellas, firearms, knives, glass objects of any kind, banners, helmets, chains, and laser pointers. Security personnel will inspect attendees at access gates to enforce the safety regulations.
The Municipality of Lima announced a coordinated municipal security deployment around San Marcos Stadium. Municipal personnel were positioned early in the morning along key surrounding traffic arteries, including Avenida Venezuela, Avenida Universitaria, Avenida Argentina, Avenida Óscar R. Benavides, and Avenida Mariano Cornejo, to monitor crowd safety and direct pedestrian traffic.

Street Closures and Traffic Detours
Local transport authorities established extensive vehicle detours to accommodate crowd flow near the university campus. Avenida Venezuela is closed to traffic between Avenida Tingo María and the boundary of the Constitutional Province of Callao. Drivers moving from west to east are instructed to detour via Avenida De los Precursores and Avenida La Mar, while vehicles traveling from east to west must detour along Avenida Óscar Benavides.

Avenida Germán Amézaga is also closed between Avenida Venezuela and Avenida Colonial. Southbound traffic is diverted along Avenida Tingo María and Avenida Mariano Cornejo, while northbound vehicles must follow a detour using Avenida Mariano Cornejo and Avenida Tingo María.

Public Transit and Special Bus Services
Peru's Ministry of Transport and Communications, in coordination with the Urban Transport Authority, arranged for more than 80 public transport buses to transport concertgoers home after each performance. The monitored vehicles will park directly outside San Marcos Stadium at the conclusion of each concert to transport attendees to various neighborhoods across Lima and Callao.

The Urban Transport Authority also expanded operating hours for the Metropolitano bus rapid transit system. On Wednesday, October 7, regular bus services on Route B for Lima North and Route C for Lima South will operate until midnight. For the concerts on October 9 and October 10, Routes B and C will run until midnight at standard stations, after which the overnight Lechucero bus service will operate along its regular route until 4:00 a.m.

The three concert dates for the BTS Arirang world tour in Peru are confirmed for Wednesday, October 7, Friday, October 9, and Saturday, October 10.

Event promoter Live Nation confirmed that BTS will conduct soundcheck preparations at the stadium until 2:00 p.m. prior to evening door openings.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications is the cabinet-level government ministry responsible for transportation infrastructure across Peru, while the Urban Transport Authority oversees public transit integration in Lima and Callao. The Metropolitano operates a dedicated bus rapid transit corridor connecting the northern and southern sectors of the Lima metropolitan area.

The fanbase Jimin Perú 13 launched a campaign titled A Train of Love for Jimin, decorating a train on Line 1 of the Lima Metro with imagery dedicated to band member Jimin.
Peru's national identification agency, the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status, published registration figures showing that hundreds of Peruvian citizens carry names inspired by BTS members on their official national identity documents.
