Alberto Núñez Feijóo has strengthened his standing as Spain's highest-rated political leader, widening his lead over Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez in a new survey.
The president of the People's Party scored an average rating of 4.4 out of 10 in the survey conducted by NC Report for newspaper LA RAZÓN. Sánchez, the leader of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, received a rating of 3.5 out of 10.
Santiago Abascal of Vox recorded a score of 3.3, while Sumar leader Yolanda Díaz finished last in the ranking with 2.7. None of the four main national leaders achieved a passing score of 5, though Feijóo expanded his advantage over the head of government.
Universal recognition and age breakdown
The survey showed that public recognition of Spain's main national leaders is nearly universal. Sánchez is known by 99.6 percent of respondents, while Feijóo is recognized by 98.5 percent.
Díaz is known by 96.3 percent of voters, and Abascal is recognized by 94.5 percent. More than 94 percent of those surveyed in all cases stated they felt capable of evaluating the performance of each leader.
Feijóo maintained consistent support across generations, with his marks increasing among older respondents. His rating rose from 4.1 among voters aged 18 to 29 to 4.6 among those aged 65 and older.
Ratings for Sánchez remained virtually unchanged across all age brackets, holding between 3.5 and 3.6. Meanwhile, Abascal achieved his strongest result among voters under 30 with a score of 3.7. Díaz also recorded her highest rating of 3.2 among young voters, though support for both leaders dropped progressively among older age groups.
Support among voters and party reach
The analysis of voter memory confirmed strong alignment between each leader and their own party base. Feijóo scored 7.4 among PP voters, matching the 7.4 rating Abascal received from Vox voters.
Sánchez reached 5.7 among Socialist voters, while Díaz scored 6.0 among people who voted for Sumar. Cross-ratings indicated that Feijóo holds the greatest ability to attract approval beyond his political party.
In contrast, Díaz received almost no backing from PP and Vox voters, demonstrating limited reach outside her existing voter base. The Sumar leader will not run again as a candidate.
