The first photographs of Xiaomi's new foldable smartphone prototype, the Xiaomi 18 Fold, have appeared online ahead of an expected September presentation.
The upcoming device will feature a new Xring O3 chip as one of its primary internal hardware upgrades, technology publication GSMArena reported.
Leaked images of the handset show that Xiaomi chose a wide body format for the folding model. The rear panel houses a triple camera system set inside a large horizontal camera block, finished in a dark red color scheme.
The external appearance of the smartphone could still change before release because the photographs show an engineering sample rather than a finished commercial product. Xiaomi has not disclosed full technical specifications for the 18 Fold, with complete hardware details expected closer to the official launch in September.
