Grigory Zaslavsky Says He Is Unaware of GITIS Probe

Former Russian Institute of Theatre Arts rector Grigory Zaslavsky has responded to news of a law enforcement check into his actions, Russian newspaper Kommersant reported on its Telegram channel.

Zaslavsky said he was unaware of any inquiry being conducted against him by law enforcement officers, according to the publication.

Allegations and hiring inquiry

Law enforcement officers previously launched a check to determine whether the former rector was involved in abuse of authority and the unjustified accrual of salary payments. A criminal case has not been opened yet.

The inquiry is also linked to the employment of Zaslavsky's children at the institute, which is known as GITIS. He was required to notify authorities about hiring family members, but he failed to report their employment.
