Zoomer Green: the color of a generation

Is there really all this behind a color? Can a shade of green represent the moods of a generation?

If Millennial Pink spoke to us about gender fluidity, the Zoomer Green speaks to us of ecological concern, digital evolutionbut also of the ever more pressing desire to take back our freedom (it is not the green traffic light the universal symbol of the green light?), expressing the values and desires of Generation Z, or those born between the end of the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s.

The launch of the new Fall / Winter 2022-23 collection (which showed on February 26), the debut one for Matthieu Blazy, was announced by a green screen, defined as a door to the world of the brand to be accessed through the first App of the Maison. The new creative director, however, made a sparing use of tonality to say the least signature of the Maison, perhaps just to emphasize the new course of the brand.

Not only Bottega Veneta. There is no brand except in their collections Spring / Summer 2022 do not offer at least one accessory in this shade of green. Some call it Grass Green (Acne Studios), others Super Green (By Far), the result does not change: wearing a bag, a pair of shoes or even a sweater in this shade of color will make us feel terribly fashionable.

And what about the green light towards a promising future? For that we will still have to wait. But fashion, as always an expression of the spirit of the times, has managed to condense all our aspirations for normality and peace in this exaggerated, bright, bold hue. A green crying: I’m here, look at me! I want to live.
