The ZKSYNC L2 security team has discovered the compromised account of the administrator responsible for the contract of the Airrodop ZK. The attacker managed to gain control over unused tokens, kidnapping them about $ 5 million.
The company emphasized that all users are safe, and the main ZKSYNC protocol, like the ZK asset contract, have not been exposed.
Now the internal investigation is ongoing, after which a full report will be published.
The incident caused a sharp drop in the price of the project asset by almost 20%, probably due to the sale of stolen tokens.
Recall that the Airrop Tokenov project in 2024 attracted attention both by the scale (21 billion ZK in the general issue) and criticism-in particular, due to accusations of an unfair distribution and non-fulfillment of the filtration of Sibil-accounts.
After listing on exchanges in June last year, the course of the asset collapsed by more than 20%.
