Zelensky slams North Korea for sending troops to Russia – ‘Pyongyang has no respect for human life’

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today called on the international community to step up pressure on North Korea, following reports that Pyongyang is sending troops to fight alongside Russian forces in Ukraine. “If North Korea can intervene in the war in Europe, then the pressure on this regime is definitely not enough,” Zelensky said in a video message. “It is clear that Pyongyang, like Moscow, (…) does not respect human life,” the Ukrainian president added, stressing that this escalation of the Russian invasion must stop. Reports that Pyongyang is sending troops to fight alongside Russian forces in Ukraine have circulated for days, including from South Korea’s intelligence services.
