Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Rome to attend Pope Francis’ funeral on Saturday (26), Ukrinform state news agency said.
The leader arrived along with the Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska and the rest of the Ukrainian delegation, the agency said.
Zelensky said on Friday he will travel to the Vatican to the funeral if he can arrive on time after numerous three-year war meetings between his country and Russia.
Zelensky and Ukraine European partners are currently trying to sketch a possible agreement to end the war while parallel conversations happen between the United States and Moscow.
