President Volodimir Zelenski said today that talks between Ukrainian and Western officials in London yesterday were not “easy” but were “constructive”. “I am sure Russia was counting on a very big scandal yesterday,” Zelenski said at a joint press conference in South Africa along with President Siril Ramafaza. Zelenski also said that he does not see any evidence that the US is putting strong pressure on Russia as part of their peacekeeping effort and that Kiev is doing what his allies have proposed, though he cannot ignore his pension. The Ukrainian leader said it is already a major compromise on the part of Kiev to agree to negotiate with Russia as soon as a truce was declared.
